Close an organization

Close an organization

Prepare a business organization for closure and request deletion.

Organization closure retires a business workspace and its services. As the organization owner, coordinate the request through support. Removing a colleague or deleting a personal login is a separate task.

Prepare the request

Review active products, subscriptions, unpaid invoices, contractual notice periods, and ongoing incidents. Use cancellation for subscription changes and the product's own deletion procedures for resources.

Export the records the business needs, including invoices, audit records, and product data. Check that exports can be opened and are held by a current business contact. Identify retention obligations or holds with your legal team.

Request closure

Contact support as the owner. Include the organization identifier, legal business name, products to close, desired date, an authorized business contact, and any records that must be preserved. Ask support to confirm the scope, remaining charges, deletion blockers, and effective date before the request is carried out.

If the owner is unavailable, resolve ownership recovery first. A billing contact's access to invoices does not by itself establish authority to delete the business workspace.

Confirm completion

Keep the closure confirmation and final billing records. Check that the confirmed services ended and that invoices match the agreed end date. Retention and deletion of backups, audit records, and financial records follow the applicable policy and agreement; use data retention to scope those questions.
