Recycle bin
Restore or permanently remove deleted records within the retention period.
Deleting a monitor, an incident, or a status page puts it in the recycle bin rather than destroying it. Deleted items are kept for 30 days, then removed permanently.
Open the bin from Monitors → Export → Recently deleted…, or from the Operations toolkit → Recycle bin. Each row shows the item's type, original name, deletion time, and purge date.
Restore an item
Select Restore on the row. Status will not restore an item if doing so would conflict with an existing resource—for example, if something new already uses the same name or URL slug. Resolve the conflict and try the restore again.
What comes back, and what does not:
| Resource | Restored | Not restored |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor | Configuration, assertions, credentials, schedule, regions, taxonomy | Health state, check history, recorded results, dependencies |
| Incident | The incident and its whole timeline, internal notes included | Its claim on the active grouping key |
| Status page | Page settings, branding, and the component tree with monitor mappings | Subscribers, which were removed when the page was deleted |
A restored monitor returns paused with its configuration intact. Resume it from the Monitors page once you have re-checked its target. After restoring a monitor, configure its dependencies again if required.
A restored incident does not rejoin any automatic grouping it belonged to, and a restored status page has no subscribers until readers sign up again.
Permanently removing items
Items are removed automatically 30 days after deletion; there is no way to recover them after that. Check results are not part of a deleted monitor's snapshot and are removed with it.
Viewing the bin requires organization membership. Restoring re-creates a resource, so you need permission to modify that resource type. Restores are written to the audit log.
