IPv4 and IPv6 availability

Run separate IPv4 and IPv6 checks and inspect availability for each address family.

Network monitors can choose Dual stack in the IP protocol setting of the monitor editor's Network tab. Each scheduled run then performs independent IPv4 and IPv6 executions with separate timing, status, and error details. DNS-record and heartbeat monitors keep their protocol-specific behavior and do not offer dual mode.

How dual-stack results combine

Status records the address family on every result. It waits for both fresh family observations before applying a state change, so the first result in a pair never decides the aggregate state. When explicit worker regions are configured, every region/family pair must report before the all/majority/any policy is evaluated. With the default All regions must pass policy, either family failing marks the monitor down; choose another regional policy when partial reachability is acceptable.

Where the data appears

The Analytics page and CSV/JSON exports include a separate address-family table with checks, uptime, average response time, and P95 latency. Results created before address-family tracking are labeled Automatic / legacy. Existing single-family and automatic monitors continue to emit one result per interval.

Dual mode approximately doubles check traffic and stored result volume for that monitor. Account for this when selecting intervals and retention settings.
