Manage a connection

Review synchronization, rotate service credentials, pause information exchange, and retire a connection with its dependencies resolved.

Manage a connection from Organization → Connector → Connections in Console. Select the organization and connection before changing its grant or credentials. Product administrators must approve changes to their product's authority.

Review activity

  1. In Connection → Overview, inspect the active grant revision, last successful synchronization, and health of each direction.
  2. In Activity, select an exchange to inspect its source IDs, observation times, destination references, and outcome.
  3. Follow the linked source operation for execution evidence. For changes to product resources, inspect Infra audit records or Guard audit records.

If an exchange lacks a successful outcome, follow synchronization recovery before using its received state for an operational decision.

Change the sharing selection

  1. In Connection → Sharing, select Edit sharing.
  2. For each direction, choose the categories and selected labels required for the receiving workflow. Review the destination project or asset group.
  3. Select Save changes. In Grants, complete the product approvals and select Activate grant for the reviewed replacement revision.
  4. In Overview, confirm the active grant revision. In Activity, confirm a successful synchronization under that revision for each changed direction.

If the revision remains pending, the earlier active grant still controls the exchange. Inspect the named product approver in Grants before repeating the edit. For category contents, see Data sharing and synchronization.

Rotate credentials

You need administrative authority for the product connection. For a separate service connection, use Infra credential rotation or Guard identity rotation in that product's console.

  1. In Connection → Credentials, select Rotate credentials.
  2. In Credentials, wait for each product adapter to acknowledge adoption of the replacement credential.
  3. In Connection → Overview, confirm successful synchronization using the replacement credential for every affected direction.
  4. In Credentials, select Revoke previous credential. Confirm that the previous credential is Revoked and synchronization still succeeds.

If synchronization fails before revocation, inspect the error in Overview and restore adapter connectivity before revoking a working credential. For a suspected exposure, revoke the affected credential in Credentials immediately and inspect accepted operations in both products. Credential revocation does not cancel work that a product already accepted.

Pause and resume exchange

  1. In Connection → Overview, select Pause.
  2. Wait for Paused. Confirm that Activity shows no subsequent exchanges and that the active grant has not advanced.
  3. To restore exchange, in Overview, select Resume. Resolve any grant approval or credential error shown there.
  4. Confirm Connected and a successful synchronization after resumption for each enabled direction. Inspect the source product for any history gap.

Pausing stops subsequent exchange and grant activation. It does not stop droplets, release containment, or cancel accepted product operations. Received records remain subject to destination retention.

Revoke and delete the connection

You need product administrators for both sides and an owner for any service dependency that the connection manages. Record source operation IDs before revocation if work remains unresolved.

  1. In Connection → Resources and Activity, inspect mapped dependencies and unresolved exchanges. Complete accepted product work or record its recovery owner and source operation reference.
  2. For an Infra hosted-capacity link, follow Connector removal to decommission or transfer managed resources. For a Guard edge link, follow edge revocation to migrate traffic and confirm routing before retirement.
  3. In Connection → Overview, select Revoke connection. Confirm Revoked for the connection and its grants. Reconnecting requires fresh approval.
  4. After all Connector deliveries have resolved, in Overview, select Delete connection. If deletion is blocked, follow the listed dependency references, resolve them, and repeat deletion.
  5. In Connections, confirm the entry is absent. In each product, inspect retained resources and data under that product's lifecycle and retention rules.

Deleting a connection does not delete its source resources or destination copies. Hosted resource usage and applied security controls can continue until their product-specific retirement completes.
