Add a project to a connection
Expand a directional grant, review its affected resources, and activate the approved revision without replacing the connection.
Add a project by proposing a replacement grant selection. The active selection continues to control exchange until the replacement receives approval and activates.
Before you begin
You need the following access and identifiers:
- You can administer the connection and inspect its active grant revision.
- An Infra Organization Admin can approve the additional project, and the destination administrator can approve its receiving scope.
- You know the project ID and receiving asset group or integration ID.
Review and activate the broader selection
- In Organization → Connector → Connections → Connection → Grants, open the active direction. Record its source projects, destination, categories, label keys, and revision.
- In Sharing → Edit sharing, add the project to that direction. Preserve the existing selections that still need to exchange information.
- In Review, compare the added resource IDs and destination scope. Select Save changes.
- In Grants, have the source and destination administrators approve the exact pending revision. Select Activate grant after both approvals appear.
- In Overview, confirm the replacement active revision. In Activity, inspect a successful synchronization under that revision and confirm the additional project's resource IDs.
If approval is rejected, correct the selection and request review of the corrected revision. If synchronization fails, use its original operation reference to inspect per-direction results before submitting replacement work.
Update a customer consumer
- In the consumer's service-account Access settings, confirm the connection remains assigned. A broader product grant does not create another key binding.
- In the consumer, restart any inventory snapshot rejected with
409 scope_changed. Publish its replacement only after all pages finish. - In the destination catalog, confirm resources from both the original and added projects appear with their qualified resource keys.
For an API-controlled change, use Propose a grant, Approve or reject a grant, and Activate a replacement grant.
