Connect Infra and Guard
Approve a scoped product connection and confirm the first exchange between an Infra project and a Guard asset group.
Connect one Infra project to one Guard asset group to share inventory and security context for a pilot workload. Complete the first synchronization before adding resource mappings or expanding the scope.
Before you begin
You need the following access and resources:
- Your Infra and Guard organizations belong to the same Solarius organization.
- You have Infra Organization Admin authority and Guard Administrator authority for the selected scopes, or an administrator for each product can approve.
- An Infra project contains the pilot resources, and a Guard asset group exists for the receiving inventory.
- For a self-hosted installation, outbound HTTPS, trusted certificates, and synchronized time are healthy under its product's deployment configuration.
Select the products and scope
- In Solarius Console, select the organization. Open Organization → Connector → Connections → Create connection.
- In Products, choose Infra and Guard. Select each product organization and installation by ID, including the deployment location.
- In Grants, choose the pilot Infra project and receiving Guard asset group. Select Resource inventory from Infra to Guard.
- To return security context, select Security summaries from Guard to Infra for mapped assets in the pilot scope.
- In Review, inspect both directions, the selected resources, and the information categories. Submit the request for product approval.
The connection remains Pending approval until both product administrators approve their participation. An unapproved connection exchanges no information.
Approve and activate the connection
- In Organization → Connector → Connections, open the pending connection. In Grants, review the product identities and requested scope.
- As the administrator for each product, select Approve for that product's participation. If the scope is incorrect, reject the request and correct the selection before requesting approval again.
- After both approvals appear, in Overview, select Activate connection.
- In Overview, confirm Connected, the active grant revision, and a successful synchronization time after activation for each approved direction.
- In Activity, open the inventory synchronization result. Confirm that the pilot resource IDs belong to the selected project and receiving group.
If activation fails or a direction has no successful synchronization, open its error in Overview. Follow connection troubleshooting before broadening the scope.
Associate the pilot resources
Follow Map resources across products to associate the pilot workload with its Guard asset. Confirm the mapping before interpreting security summaries as evidence about that workload.
Inventory sharing alone does not enroll an endpoint or route traffic through Guard. To protect a public application, continue with Protect an Infra service with Guard.
For narrower operating tasks, use Share project inventory, Return security context, or Add a project to a connection. To connect an application you operate, start with Connect a custom integration.
